Bob Glickman, a Hollywood Beach resident, told the Hollywood City Redevelopment Agency on July 2, 2025, that the city should actively market naming rights for the Margaritaville venue to bring in revenue. "Let the this company that's gonna pay for the naming rights have their name on the camera," Glickman said, suggesting the city use a realtor-style marketing approach and continuous camera placement to keep sponsor names visible.
Glickman praised recent maintenance along A1A, saying the removal of dead trees and new median plantings have improved the corridor, and he proposed using extra CRA funds to add medians with underground storage tanks to hold floodwater. He also recommended expanding a pilot program that installs flap gates in street-end basins as a means to minimize flooding on the Barrier Island.
The public comment came during the agency's scheduled citizen-comment period; no motion or vote followed Glickman's remarks. He told the agency he would return for upcoming budget meetings to press the proposals. The recommendations touched on two separate priorities for the redevelopment agency: near-term revenue generation and longer-term flood mitigation work on A1A. The agency did not announce any immediate directive or study assignment at the meeting.
