At Thursday’s meeting the Hollywood CRA approved three formal measures affecting the Harrison Street streetscape and downtown storefront projects.
Item 12: Burkhart contract amendment and change order — Motion passed 6–1 Staff presented a resolution authorizing an amendment to the contract with Burkhart and a change order of up to $834,000, including CRA direct purchases of construction materials estimated at roughly $389,000. The staff presentation said the project cost will increase from about $5,500,000 to roughly $6,300,000 if the change order is executed. Commissioner Schram moved the motion and Commissioner Gruber seconded. The motion carried 6–1 with Commissioner Hernandez recorded as the lone no vote.
Item 13: Bollard purchases — Unanimous The CRA authorized purchase orders for bollards from Landscape Forms Inc. in an amount up to $45,000 and from BarrierOne Systems in an amount up to $126,000 under the procurement code as best‑interest purchases. Commissioner Shuham moved the item and Commissioner Calari seconded; the board approved the purchases unanimously.
Item 14: Grant completion date amendment for Hollywood 26 LLC — Unanimous The board approved amending the completion date of a property improvement program grant agreement with Hollywood 26 LLC for on‑site improvements at 2024 and 2026 Hollywood Boulevard to allow time for historic preservation approvals. The motion carried unanimously.
