Green River council approves up to $30,000 in extra local funding for Tidwell TAP sidewalk and curb project

Staff recommended the council approve up to an additional $30,000 in local funds so the project can proceed at the reduced scope.
Council members pressed staff about drainage and whether the new work could cause temporary runoff toward adjacent lots; staff stated the new curb and gutter will tie into existing drainage toward Thompson and Alberta and said the city is coordinating further drainage work and a master plan for the area. "We should be prepared for that if we do run into issues," a council member said during the discussion.
After discussion, a motion to approve the Tidwell TAP funding request with up to $30,000 in additional allotment was made, seconded and carried on a roll-call that recorded ayes. The council instructed staff to document the funding amendment and to continue coordination with UDOT and federal grant managers on project timing.
Staff noted the TAP project is federally funded and managed by UDOT and that the city—s local match or allotment would cover the identified shortfall; staff anticipated work to begin once federal funds are available and approvals are complete.
