Board authorizes $18,000 change order for Spencer Town Park from contingency

Franzese said the original contract was about $1.95 million after allowances and that, when combined with previous change orders, the revised base contract would total $1,975,506.10, leaving approximately $30,647 in project contingency. He told the board the work addresses plan-review requirements and that the cost will be covered from the project contingency rather than an increase to the overall funding package.
Board members asked whether the county had approved the revisions; town staff confirmed the plan-review changes have county approval. The motion to authorize the town manager to execute the change order passed by voice vote.
The manager also said the project is awaiting final fountain-related numbers that could yield savings and help rebuild the contingency; staff will report back as numbers are finalized.
