Flor said the nine-member chamber ensemble, made up of seventh- and eighth-grade musicians, performed under the direction of Carlos Martinez. He described the performance as one of the meeting’s opening highlights and credited the district’s fine-arts offerings with enriching student learning.
The board recognized Emily Zhang for receiving an outstanding performer award at the 2024 UIL state solo and ensemble contest for her viola solo. Flor also noted that the Lake Belton High School Stampede Marching Band qualified for the UIL state marching band contest for the fourth time in five years, an example he cited of sustained program success.
Flor highlighted a district partnership with ACER, saying ACER’s repair facility supports the TechSperts program by providing weekly device repairs and managing the district’s annual summer device refresh to keep technology reliable for students. He also recognized the teaching and learning department for ensuring access to resources, systems and support across the district.
