The Barrington Village Board approved its consent agenda and a warrants list during its Feb. 23, 2026 meeting.
President Moran read five consent-agenda items: authorization to hire an economic development specialist, public-works maintenance staff and a human-resources intern; a resolution permitting use of village rights-of-way for the PAWS Chicago "Angels with Tales" event on Aug. 22, 2026; an ordinance authorizing participation in the Northern Illinois Municipal Electric Collaborative (NIMEC) and allowing the village president or manager to approve an electric power supply agreement up to 36 months; an ordinance granting a special-use plan development amendment for Barrington High School (PC 25-07) at 616 West Main Street; and an ordinance amending Title 3 (business and license regulations) of the village code.
A trustee moved to approve the consent agenda, a second was made, and the clerk took roll call; the board voted unanimously to adopt the items by omnibus vote.
The board then considered the warrants list for Feb. 23, 2026 in the amount of $1,170,234.13 for expenditures and payroll for all funds. Following a motion and second, the clerk conducted a roll call and the warrants list was approved.
No motions to send items to closed session were made; the board adjourned. The approvals recorded in the meeting minutes were procedural and did not include substantive debate on the individual ordinances at this session.
