Barrington Area Development Council seeks nominations for Citizen of the Year, outlines spring events

Green said nominations are open through April 6 and encouraged broad community outreach. She also announced the BADC annual dinner will be held May 6, 2026 at McCray Memorial Golf Club and that a Barrington Area Community Needs Forum is scheduled for April 11 at the Barrington White House to gather input from about 100 attendees.
The BADC representative described the group as an "all volunteer nonprofit serving the Barrington area since 1966," highlighting its role in leadership development, community collaboration and prior involvement in creating local organizations. Green offered postcards with deadlines and website information to help residents submit nominations.
The board did not debate the announcement; it received staff thanks and moved on to the consent agenda. The meeting record shows the BADC outreach was presented as informational during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
