Facing a vendor deadline, Speaker 2 asked what was needed to finalize purchase authority so Dell could ship computers by month end. The committee agreed to amend the cleanup ordinance: Speaker 1 moved to remove sections 1–3, rename section 4 as the primary appropriation section and increase the appropriation by $25,000 to add to the existing $25,000, bringing the line item to a $50,000 target. The amendment was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Separately, the committee approved a technical amendment to the 2026 budget controls to allow court orders to transfer money within funding groups in emergency cases (for example, to cover overtime after severe weather). Speaker 5 explained the added phrase would allow court orders or ordinances to transfer within personal‑service categories when necessary.
The committee recorded the changes and directed staff to reformat the ordinance language for the next quorum court meeting.
