Board clerk Michelle opened a brief announcement at the Feb. 25 Schenectady City School District work session, saying the district’s annual budget vote and board member election will be held Tuesday, May 19 and that three board seats are up. She told attendees that petitions are available at the meeting and in the district office and offered a contact number and office location for candidates.
Following the announcements, the board approved the consent agenda (items 4a–4j). The chair asked for a motion; board member Jamaica moved to approve the consent items and board member Alexandria seconded. The chair called for the vote and the motion carried as presented.
At the end of the public portion of the work session the chair moved the board into executive session “to discuss the employment issue and performance of particular persons as submitted under the Open Meetings Law.” After a brief objection, the board voted in favor and entered executive session.
Board members asked the district for routine follow‑up information (detailed school‑level assessment breakdowns and opt‑out statistics), which staff said they would provide by email.
