Council endorses $400,000 Water Smart Planning grant; match credited

The North Logan City Council unanimously endorsed a resolution Feb. 18 to accept paperwork necessary to close a Water Smart Planning and Project Design grant valued at $400,000.
Jordan (city staff) told the council the grant covers engineering and design work and that the city’s required match is recorded as 1.2:1 and may include prior in‑kind work or prior project expenditures (for example, the city’s water tank and water line construction to date). “That 1.2 also includes anything we've done to date,” Jordan said.
Councilmember Emily moved to approve the resolution and Kenny seconded. Council votes were taken by voice and the resolution passed unanimously. Staff said the funding will support continued planning activities and does not immediately obligate additional operating funds.
Councilmembers thanked staff for work on the grant and noted the step as part of an incremental approach to water projects.
