San Marcos council honors veterans and community partners; residents raise mobile‑home eviction concerns

The council presented a certificate to 12‑year‑old Mia Mendoza for winning a Rise Above logo challenge and took photographs with participants. The San Diego County Sheriff's Office presented plaques to partners and recognized the program’s success.
The council also recognized Detective Sergeant Augustine “Augie” Rosas for more than four years leading a detective team; the proclamation cited the detective unit’s caseload and collaboration with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
During oral communications, Tom Grama from Vista Meadows Mobile Home Park said residents are receiving what he called unfair eviction notices from park owners and requested that the city attorney contact the owners to stop the practice. The mayor said the complaint was non‑agendized and asked Mr. Grama to submit written details to staff so they could follow up offline (staff contact: Sylvia Daniels).
