The presiding officer told the board that three of five sponsors or co‑sponsors were general contractors or private developers and said recent amendments (including a $5 stormwater fee added the prior evening) had affected the bill's legislative timing. "...it's the state government trying to take away our local control, of, of how our communities develop," the presiding officer said. He recommended the board adopt the standard resolution circulated among neighboring municipalities and deliver it to the town's state legislators.
Board members agreed to add the resolution to next week's agenda (to appear after consent and before the annexation items). Staff or the mayor's office will circulate the draft resolution to board members in advance.
