At the March 25 meeting the town manager provided a consolidated infrastructure update: contractors plan to deliver water-line pipe in April and begin excavation in May with a two-month target to complete the Main Street stretch of the water-line work; staging and access for the tank project may use nearby easements and contractor mobilization will be coordinated to limit road closures.
The manager said the Vine Street sidewalk contracts are signed with contractors expected to begin in April; several utility poles will be relocated in the next two weeks and construction oversight and liquidated-damage provisions are in the contracts.
On the municipal pool, the architect presented three options and the committee narrowed the choices to two: a full interior rebuild estimated near $1,100,000 and a lower-cost ADA/minor-renovations path near $150,000. The manager will convene the pool subcommittee to refine plans and next steps.
The finance director, Lori, announced her retirement after 34 years; the manager will post the job ad and the board discussed including board representatives and outside accounting expertise in interviews. Lori has offered to assist as a consultant during transition.
The manager also noted several other items in the packet, including a Maple Sugar lease request and ARPA-funded storm-sewer sections with spending deadlines through December 2026.
