Spencer County Fiscal Court approves two agricultural zone changes

The Spencer County Fiscal Court on Wednesday approved two agricultural zone changes after second readings and a recommendation from planning and zoning. Julie read applications for Goodlet Holdings LLC and Will's Farm LLC seeking AG-2 agricultural zoning on two tracts; Track 2a was listed as 5.014 acres and Track 2b as 5.037 acres along Hattie Lane.

Commissioner Osborn moved to recommend the Goodlet application and the court then voted to approve the rezoning based on the facts and findings of planning and zoning. "We have a motion by Will, seconded by Zach, to approve the zoning change that was just read based on the facts and findings of planning zoning," Speaker 2 said before the voice vote. The motion passed.

A separate zone change for a 5.2001-acre tract at 4455 Heathersville Road to AG-2 (from R-1 and AG-1) was approved after a roll-call vote. Julie reported no one spoke against the change and indicated planning had recommended a move toward medium-density residential in the comprehensive plan; the court nonetheless approved the recommendation.

The court recorded motions and seconds for each action and confirmed votes on the record. No amendments or conditions were announced at the meeting. The approvals will be reflected in the county zoning records and taken into account for any future permitting on the parcels.
