During the meeting the board approved multiple personnel items and heard a detailed superintendent's report on administrative succession planning and district strategy.
Human resources presented a professional‑staff report that included one administrator tenure change (11 to 12 months), one administrator position change and appointment, seven certificated staff appointments, one certificated resignation, one school‑related professional resignation and five substitute appointments. The board approved the professional‑staff and support‑staff reports by motion. The 2024–25 professional learning plan was approved and the board authorized a three‑year managerial confidential unit contract with redline changes noted for review.
The superintendent reported there was no need for executive session and opened discussion of a consent‑agenda policy recommendation on the use of school facilities, materials and equipment. Staff explained that one substantive change reflected a recent law requiring certified personnel and an AED when outdoor facilities are used, and that some operational items (for example, supervision details) were moved from board policy into administrative regulation. The superintendent also reviewed outcomes of an administrative retreat focused on succession planning, announced hires and reassignments (Jeff Pollard to Allen Creek, Rich Albano to Mendon Center, Heather Clayton in a new role, and Terry Hassler named as director of finance with an Aug. 12 start date) and emphasized next‑generation skills, SEL benchmarks and the CRSE framework as anchors of the district's strategic initiative.
The personnel and policy items were accepted as part of the consent agenda and will be reflected in the district's staffing and policy documentation.
