Pittsford Central School District board swears in trustees and elects officers at reorganization meeting

The Pittsford Central School District Board of Education opened its annual reorganization meeting with oaths of office for reelected trustees and proceeded to elect its leadership for the coming year.

Trustee Jeff Casey, Sarah Palucio and Renee Sanchez Casakos each recited the oath of office, pledging support for the U.S. and New York constitutions and to faithfully discharge board duties. After the oaths, a board member nominated Robin Scott for president, citing a commitment to “making decisions that always put the community’s best interests first,” and the board voted unanimously to elect Scott president. Scott took the oath and presided over the remainder of the reorganization agenda.

The board then nominated and approved Jeff Casey as president‑elect and elected Sarah Palucio as vice president by voice vote. The superintendent read the slate of annual appointments for the 2024–25 school year and the board approved the list, which included Deborah Carpenter as district clerk and Rachel Smith as district treasurer, along with auditors, a school physician and designated officers for records and safety-related roles. The board also announced committee assignments: Palucio as legislative liaison, Emily Kaye on the teacher center policy board and an audit oversight committee composed of Renee Sanchez Casakos, Robin Scott and Jeff Casey.

The reorganization concluded with routine procedural approvals and a handoff of meeting control to the newly elected president.
