On Wednesday the Mehlville R-IX Board of Education approved several operational items by unanimous vote, including a district site lighting contract, a fiscal-year 2026 budget amendment and a slate of consent agenda items, and then voted to enter closed session under Missouri statutory provisions.
Mike Gegg, director of facilities, recommended awarding the lowest qualified bid from KB Electric for lighting upgrades at nine district buildings. The base bid and contingency presented to the board totaled $325,518; with an estimated $10,000 of in-house work the total was $335,518. The board approved the recommendation by voice vote, 7–0.
Marshall Crutcher presented a FY26 budget adjustment showing roughly $1.9 million in favorable adjustments since the November update; administration said these are expected to be transferred to the capital fund at year-end. The board approved the budget amendment 7–0.
The board approved action items by consent (items a–r) without pulls or additional discussion. Later, a motion to enter closed session was made citing Missouri Revised Statutes (including sections of §610.021 and §610.022) for purposes such as minutes review, certain real-estate discussion, personnel matters and litigation; the board proceeded with the closed session motion and then adjourned by unanimous vote.
No final outcomes were announced in open session for matters set for closed session; the board recorded roll-call assent before departing into closed session.
