Clark Township Board of Adjustment adopts 2025 meeting dates, moves start time earlier

The Clark Township Board of Adjustment voted Tuesday to adopt meeting dates for 2025 and to move its regular start time from 8:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Chairman Ed Ruth opened the Dec. 17 meeting and the board considered a staff proposal to shift the start time earlier. A staff member told the board the change would align the board’s schedule with most other township boards and could make meetings more accessible to members or residents who commute from jobs in New York City.

"We think it might be beneficial to the board members and to the town, to the public who comes in, if we can start at 07:30," the staff member said during the discussion.

After a straw poll showed broad support, Commissioner Thomas Mead moved to adopt the 2025 dates and revised times; the motion was seconded and the board approved it by voice vote. The transcript records the second as "Mark Hill" in one line but the roll-call and earlier references identify the board member as Mark Hayden; the board declared the motion carried.

The board also noted a separate reorganization meeting with a different start time for that session: the transcript records both 07:45 and 07:15 in the discussion about the reorganization meeting, and staff said the 07:45 notation applied only to the first reorganization meeting.

The board did not attach additional conditions to the meeting schedule change. The meeting then moved on to its main business.

The board’s next scheduled meeting dates for 2025 were adopted as presented at the Dec. 17 session, with the regular meetings shifted to begin at 7:30 p.m.
