Radnor board delays Ithan project bid after permit setbacks; approves consent agenda 7-0
Summary
At its June 10 meeting the Radnor Township School District board heard a facilities update that delayed the Ithan capital project bidding until November after permit delays, and approved the consent agenda (items 9.01–14.12) by a 7-0 vote.
The Radnor Township School District Board of School Directors received a facilities committee update on June 10 that said the district is delayed in receiving permit approvals for the Ithan project and will not go out to bid this summer.
Miss Duffy, reporting for the facilities committee, said the committee met June 3 and identified two consent-agenda items on the board packet: termination of an easement along School Lane near the middle school and ratification of a donation of 300 plants. She told the board that because permit approvals remain outstanding “it does not make sense to go out to bid this summer,” and recommended targeting a November bid with the hope of breaking ground next spring.
The board then moved through committee reports; Miss Stern reported the policy committee met June 3 and brought three policies forward for second reading and adoption. The board considered the consent agenda (items 9.01 through 14.12). A motion to approve the consent items was made and seconded; the board voted 7–0 in favor. The chair noted that item 10.04 should be corrected to add Miss Lau, Miss Duffy and Miss Rosenblum as PSBA delegate assembly attendees.
There were no reports from Delaware County Community College or the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. Board announcements covered potential July scheduling (a July meeting would be remote if needed), committee meetings planned for Aug. 19 and a regular meeting scheduled for Aug. 26 at the Township Administration Building. The board also congratulated the boys lacrosse team on advancing to the state championship at Penn State.
The board approved a motion to adjourn by unanimous vote and closed the meeting.
