Radnor Township SD honors 20 retiring employees, cites 445½ years of service

The Radnor Township School District Board of School Directors recognized 20 employees who are retiring, saying the group represents 445.5 years of service to the district.
Dr. Bachelor opened the segment by thanking retirees and saying the board was “absolutely thrilled” to honor them. The board presented a formal resolution recording the retirees’ service and noted the recognition would be recorded in the meeting proceedings dated June 10, 2025.
Administrators and colleagues offered extended tributes to many honorees. Jenny LeSage was praised for creating and growing a program called Soarscribe (Secondary Opportunities for Adult Readiness Skills); a speaker recounted LeSage’s leadership since 2014 and read a commemorative poem honoring her work. Claire O’Malley was recognized for 21 years as an administrative assistant, with colleagues recalling a humorous final-day alarm incident and her institutional knowledge. Colleagues also celebrated Brooke Doyle and other elementary teachers for long-standing mentorship and community-building.
Middle-school staff recognized included Clyde Deal (counselor and coach since 2001), Brad Lord (more than 30 years of teaching and coaching), Laura Foran (23 years, most recently building secretary), and Michael Murphy (25 years as a custodian). High-school tributes singled out Eric Barrett (art teacher and mentor), Alicia Alfonso (Spanish teacher and world-language department chair), and “Doc” Ted Mollman (science teacher and long-serving department chair) for their classroom leadership, mentorship and contributions to school culture.
A recorded public comment from alumnus PJ Duffy, calling in from Valencia, Spain, praised Alicia Alfonso’s decade-long commitment and wished her well in retirement. Board members who could not attend asked the chair to read statements acknowledging the retirees’ service.
The retiree segment concluded with an offer for any retiree to speak; no additional comments were offered live. The board then moved on to committee reports and routine business.
