Administration reports 22 residency verifications compliant; student recognition moved to April

The Roselle Park administration reported that 22 residency verifications completed between Jan. 19 and Feb. 14 were found to be in compliance, and that four residency investigations the district reviewed were likewise determined compliant.
During the superintendent’s report portion of the meeting, Miss Goyce summarized the administration’s recent reviews and explained changes to the principal’s recognition schedule. “We wanted to give the students the ability to be recognized in person,” Miss Goyce said, describing the decision to move Aldine School student recognition to the April meeting. She said families were notified by Mr. Rakey.
The administration also reported three surveillances were performed related to a family for whom multiple pieces of mail had been returned, and that an emergency wellness check was conducted. No disciplinary or noncompliance findings were recorded in the public superintendent report; the administration described the residency reviews as compliant.
Next steps: The board proceeded with the remainder of the agenda, including votes on personnel, education and business items. The district did not provide additional numeric detail on affected students in the public record at the meeting.
