Staff presented a final splash pad rendering described as a nature theme with three pressure/comfort zones to accommodate different ages and abilities. Playground renderings showed separate areas for older and younger children with swings and accessible options; staff emphasized preservation of existing trees within the play area.
Timeline comments indicated the project remains on track for completion by the end of 2026 or into 2027. Staff asked the council to plan a site tour when the work is safe to view. Council members asked for clarification that the existing skate park would remain and that any additional skate amenities would be considered as a potential phase 2; staff confirmed the skate park will remain as-is.
