Finance staff reported a July 2024 general fund cash balance of $8,940,000 compared with $7,240,000 the prior year and cautioned that audit work in progress may change final figures. "Once we have the audit finalized, I'll actually update that number," the staff member said, noting some July/August receipts apply to the previous fiscal year.
Staff said July revenue in the report was $6,200,000 including the beginning balance, and July expenses were about $779,000 versus approximately $746,000 the prior year. The presenter said the ending balance was close to $5,400,000 compared with $5,700,000 last year and that beginning-balance adjustments will be made when the audit is completed.
The board considered bids for surplus vans. Staff said the board should accept the highest bid because buyers will handle payment and title transfer. Miss Hart moved to approve the surplus-item bid as presented and Mister Montgomery seconded. A roll-call vote recorded 'Yes' from District 1 Amber Franceschi, District 2 Amy Hart, District 3 Billy Montgomery, District 4 Cliff Bruin and District 5 Randall (Randy) Phillips; the item was approved.
Board members did not request additional substantive changes to the surplus-sale terms during discussion.
