Burlington City Council on Sept. 16 approved submission of the city’s Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Michael Blair of the Piedmont Triad Regional Council presented the CAPER for the period ending June 30, 2025. Blair said the 2024 Community Development Block Grant award was $458,000 and summarized program spending and activities: about $92,000 for rehabilitation of five houses, roughly $76,000 for administration, and approximately $300,000 for public-facilities work including shelters, park improvements and sidewalks.
Council opened the CAPER public hearing and recorded no public comments. Following the hearing a councilmember moved to approve submission of the CAPER to HUD and the motion carried by voice vote.
Council instructions: staff will proceed with submitting the CAPER to HUD as authorized.
