The Radnor Township School District Policy Committee on June 3 reviewed Policy 6.23, a new policy that would authorize the district to file real estate tax assessment appeals in cases where properties appear to be under-assessed or no longer exempt.
Dr. Hand described the policy as intended to "authorize the district to file assessment appeals, related to district priorities that may have been under assessed or no longer exempt in order to increase revenue and uniformity in the district's tax base." The committee made only minor wording adjustments to clarify that the policy refers specifically to real estate tax appeals.
Committee members did not raise substantive objections during the meeting and the chair said the policy would be placed on the full board agenda for second read and adoption at the June 10 board meeting.
What’s next: Policy 6.23 is expected to appear on the Radnor Township School District board agenda for a second reading and possible adoption; the transcript does not record a full-board vote or final adoption.
