At its Feb. 11 meeting the Yamhill City Council approved several procedural items including the consent agenda, a resolution appointing the finance manager as the budget officer for fiscal year 2026–27, and the city's 2026–27 budget calendar.
The consent agenda was moved and approved by roll call. Later in new business the council considered Resolution R2026‑847 to appoint the finance manager as budget officer under ORS 294.331. Councilors discussed whether the mayor should sign the document because of a familial relationship noted in the packet; the mayor said he would be willing to step aside so Council President Tim could sign. Speaker 4 moved the resolution and it was seconded; the item was taken to a vote on the record.
The council also moved to adopt the City of Yamhill 2026–27 budget calendar; Speaker 10 moved adoption and it was seconded and approved by roll call.
These votes were procedural and will allow staff to proceed with budget preparations and the public schedule for hearings later in the budget cycle. The council did not amend the budget calendar at this meeting.
