Commissioners approve routine consent items, 2026 meeting calendar and one-year lease extension for Board of Elections

The Kent County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 4 approved five consent items listed in the meeting packet (including regular session minutes dated Oct. 28, 2025; liquor minutes; and closed-session minutes) by motion and voice vote.

The board also approved the proposed 2026 meeting calendar, which follows the same model used in 2025, and approved a one‑year extension of the lease with KRM (GSM LLC) for the Board of Elections property at 135 Dixon Drive while staff continues to evaluate longer‑term options. The lease extension proposal would maintain current rent for the first six months and raise it by just under 3% per square foot for the second six months as outlined in staff materials.
