Commissioners approve multiple appropriations, transfers, hiring and a $7,650 change order

The Morrow County Board of Commissioners approved several routine finance and operations items during its July 8 session.
On roll call the board approved payments from Chesterville and Johnsville and multiple appropriations, including an appropriation to the general fund for the coroner and a correction to the marriage-license fund (Fund 2037), with clarifying comments that the marriage-license fund is funded per license and also collects divorce fees.
The commissioners approved transfers among county funds: transfers to support the sheriff's contract (listed as "909HighlandSchool contract" in the record), transfers to the general fund jail, general fund law enforcement, the technical bureau and the engineer's fund. Each transfer was moved, seconded and approved by roll call with affirmative responses recorded.
The board approved hiring a part-time administrative assistant for the Commissioners/Development office.
The board also approved a change-order quote with "stand construction" for work at 480 Deckle Street for loading dog steps and a handrail in the amount of $7,650; the motion carried on roll call.
Director (Speaker 7) updated the board on a grant-funded backup generator for the county building, noting the county is awaiting state coding and a check to establish a special account to track the funds. He also reported that sewer-system start-up training occurred and that a pump house is on track to be operational once yard valving arrives; additional site work, grading and stone may be required for access.
All routine finance and personnel items listed on the agenda were approved by unanimous roll-call votes unless otherwise noted in the record.
