The Morrow County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine measures during their July 17, 2024, meeting, including two separate renewal levies for enhanced emergency medical services that will appear on the ballot.
Commissioners voted to place a 2.2-mill renewal levy for enhanced emergency medical services on the ballot, and separately approved a one-mill renewal levy for the same purpose. Both resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call; the assembled roll-call responses recorded affirmative votes from 'Mister Abraham,' 'Mister Siegfried' and 'Mason.'
The board also approved an Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) project grant agreement under the Local Transportation Improvement Program, including approval of the design presented by Commissioner Abraham. That motion was moved and adopted by roll call.
In other business, the board approved a surface-application permit for property owned by Perry Spangler; Spangler was not present and no members of the public spoke during the public hearing. The motion to approve the application was moved, seconded and passed by roll call.
The commissioners authorized a $1,188.60 flooring purchase for the treasurer's office to be paid from the capital fund and adopted a resolution to appropriate funds for site improvements. These procurement and appropriation items were approved by unanimous roll call.
Votes at a glance: the actions recorded in the meeting transcript show unanimous affirmative roll-call responses from the commissioners present for the items recorded (roll-call responses recorded as 'Yes' for Mister Abraham, Mister Siegfried and Mason where roll calls were taken). The transcript does not provide full legal names or titles beyond those spoken in roll call.
The board recessed and returned to regular session multiple times as part of routine procedure and noted schedule items for late July; no contested items or public opposition to the measures above were recorded in the transcript.
