Morrow County commissioners voted to accept a $250,000 grant agreement with the State of Ohio to fund renovations at the county health department. The grant was presented by county staff, a motion to approve was made and seconded, and roll call votes recorded 'Yes' from Mister Abraham and Mister Siegfried. The motion carried.
The board also approved several routine financial actions during the session: the approval of bills numbered 1 through 107; an appropriation of $4,397.05 from the title fund to health insurance; a $4,846 appropriation for Samoco maintenance and repairs; and a $1,276.33 transfer from general fund professional services to general fund IT professional services for website posting. Each item was moved, seconded, and recorded as approved in roll call votes.
Separately, commissioners approved a $1,025 quote from Superior Outdoor Management for herbicide treatment at the Simulco wastewater treatment plant. The county clerk read payments from Chesterville, Dodge, Bell, Caterham and other customers and announced a transfer to the engineer's fund, which the commission approved.
During the meeting Mister Gerrit introduced the commission office's new assistant, Larry Dean, saying, "We have Larry Dean with us today. It's our official first day on duty." County staff also reported ongoing progress on road and building projects, with Mister Greg noting crews remain active and that priming and painting are expected to begin the following week.
The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded through the listed approvals and updates, and adjourned after routine motion and roll call.
