After motions to approve the regular-session minutes of July 29, 2024, commissioners moved through several finance items: approval of bills (No. 2331), payments from local customers, and transfers from the Job and Family Services fund to public assistance. The board also approved appropriations for Job and Family Services and a small $25.90 appropriation for general-fund maintenance.
Commissioners approved an early-retirement incentive plan for the county engineer, set to be effective Oct. 5, 2024, through Oct. 7, 2025. The board also voted to place a 0.5-mill, five-year tax-levy renewal for Ohio State University Extension programs on the November ballot, authorizing election placement for the levy renewal.
Director-level updates included a report that county staff attended the Snowcone Heartland Transportation Partnership kickoff organized by the Ohio Department of Transportation; staff said the regional planning effort will include one-on-one follow-ups with counties in the 20-to-40-minute radius around Intel and coordination with Franklin and Dublin to identify local needs.
All motions recorded during the meeting were moved and seconded on the record and were approved by roll call with affirmative votes noted in dialogue. The board recessed and later returned to regular session before proceeding to a final hearing on a separate infrastructure item.
