Erin Knapp, who signed up to speak during the public comment period, said she was concerned that confidential documents and investigatory materials she observed had been shared by "council at large Mary Springowski" with civilians "who had no business getting it." Knapp provided her address on the record and asked the council to clarify how it handles requests for sensitive information and what protections exist to prevent unauthorized sharing.
"When you say email us, it kinda concerns me a little because I'm afraid you're gonna share my emails with everybody, even when you're not requesting them," Knapp said. She asked for the status of investigations she described as ongoing for the last two years and requested an update on how those inquiries will be handled.
The chair acknowledged the concern and did not provide a public, on‑the‑spot response other than to thank the speaker; council indicated they would obtain information and follow up through appropriate channels, including the law department if confidentiality questions arise.
