The proclamation (read in full by the president) noted Kiesen joined the city on Aug. 10, 2021, brought more than 30 years of IT experience, strengthened cybersecurity protocols, led a comprehensive cybersecurity audit with the Ohio Cyber Reserve and improved reliability and innovation across city services. It also cited his role in planning technology for the Bob Crane Community Center and his leadership on budgets and systems.
Kiesen thanked council, staff and his IT team in brief remarks, saying the city was "a great place to work" and praising colleagues and department directors for support. Council members and staff offered additional tributes; council took a photo to mark the occasion.
This item was ceremonial. The proclamation and remarks were recognition of service and included no legislative action.
