Councilmember Taylor announced a community meeting on Buchanan Street overlay at the North Nashville Police Precinct community room on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Councilmember Vogue announced Fort Negley’s park renewal groundbreaking (Thursday at 11 a.m.), a Feb. 21 district town hall at the Adventure Science Center and Chinese New Year events at the fairgrounds and Father Ryan High School.
Councilmember Stiles said District 32’s community meeting will be Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. at PopStroke, including representatives from Nashville Electric Service to discuss storm impacts and a potential I‑24 choice lane placement. Councilmember Quineva Siegel relayed a request from Izzy Witt of WalkBike Nashville for volunteers to place pedestrian memorials for people who died in the past year; the annual memorial is scheduled for Feb. 21, and some interstate locations were excluded for safety.
The chair also opened the announcements period with a land acknowledgement naming Cherokee, Shawnee and Yuchi peoples.
