Morrow County commissioners on Aug. 14 approved a routine consent agenda, appointed a new development authority member and authorized appropriations for payroll and benefits.
The board approved "Bills number 1 through 83" on a voice/roll-call motion after Speaker 3 presented the item and Speaker 1 moved to adopt the consent list. Following routine finance items, the commissioners voted to appoint Joseph Erb to the county development authority board; Speaker 3 introduced the appointment and Speaker 1 moved and seconded the motion.
Commissioners also approved journalizing treasurer reports from Monroe and Lamar counties and accepted the second-quarter 2024 investment report after a motion and second. The board took a separate appropriation for payroll and related benefits for the remainder of the year, with the transcript listing wages as $25,006.70, PRS $3,594 and a third line transcribed as "$373 per minute." Speaker 3 presented the appropriation and Speaker 1 moved and seconded the action; the board approved the appropriation by roll-call votes.
The development authority appointment was accompanied by an announcement that appointees will receive onboarding materials; Speaker 4 said a binder of current and past projects and resolutions will be provided to the new member.
The meeting recessed and later returned to regular session before the board completed the appropriation and other routine business. No public controversy or extended debate on the consent items was recorded.
