Superintendent William Hawkins told the Silver Consolidated Board of Education on Sept. 17 that the district has submitted three letters of intent to the Public Schools Finance Authority (PSFA) as part of the Public School Capital Outlay Council (PSCOC) process, including an initial $45,800,000 request tied to Cliff schools.
Hawkins said the other two letters cover an estimated $1.9 million HVAC project at Harrison and work to replace or upgrade fire-alarm/detection systems at Harrison, Cliff and parts of the Stout library; he also included La Plata Middle School’s main building in the submissions. “I have submitted 3 letters of intent to the public schools finance authority,” Hawkins told the board, and he described the letters as a way to notify PSFA of the district’s intended requests and to secure PSFA/PSCOC consideration and potential budget accounting for matching funds.
