Students showcase podcast, design business, and win national Ag Mechanics recognition

Student council president Luke Alsop summarized fall events, fundraisers and upcoming holiday and homecoming activities. A student podcast team described producing the "Cliffhanger" podcast (hosted on YouTube, Facebook and the school website) and said the project was funded in part by a grant and supported by set-up of a recording room in an old portable.
The design team explained a grant-driven small business using a new laser cutter to produce ornaments, keychains, earrings and cheese boards sold at the Gila Valley Farmers Market to raise funds for the TSA chapter. Team members outlined product prices and plans to expand into cork and leather goods as they refine skills and workflow.
Athletics and FFA recognitions: Athletic director Brian Schock acknowledged cross country and golf participants and their season placings, and ag teacher Stephanie Moon reported a national showing — her Ag Mechanics & Technology team placed 12th in the nation and was the highest-ranking AgMEC team from New Mexico (transcript: gold ranking; individual student scores were read aloud). Moon detailed events in the competition (diagnostics, welding, surveying, electrical wiring, engine repair, math test and a team activity pouring concrete).
Quote from students: "The Cliffhanger podcast... we have 4 out so far," one student said during the presentation. Coach and staff praised students for their work and community engagement.
Follow-up: students will continue podcast production and sales, and staff noted product proceeds go to the TSA chapter; no formal board action was required.
