Silver Consolidated Board awards audit contract to Beasley & Mitchell; approves slate of virtual SLP vendors

Finance Director Michelle McCain told the board the district issued the audit services request for proposals twice; the first solicitation drew no responses and the second produced a single respondent. "We had set, our, audit services out for, RFP twice, and the first time, with the caveat that we wanted in person services. And the first time we got no response," McCain said, adding that the sole respondent to the second RFP indicated they will provide on-site services.
McCain recommended selecting Beasley and Mitchell, based in Las Cruces, for the audit engagement. She said the recommended contract term is one year with options for two additional years; the district’s rotate-off clause is two years. On-site work and initial document exchanges are anticipated, though staff said not all audit work will be performed exclusively on-site.
On SLP services, McCain said the district will use Stepping Stone Group, Sunrisa and Gila Communications "as needed," and clarified these arrangements are for virtual service delivery. "These are, all virtual services. All virtual," she said. McCain also said the district has some SLP staff and has active job postings, and that recruiting candidates has been difficult; the transcript does not specify an exact current headcount.
Missus Clement moved to approve the RFP award and SLP services; Mister Khan seconded. The board approved the package by voice vote after the president called for those in favor to say "aye." The president declared the motion passed.
No amendments or contested votes were recorded during the procurement actions; staff will proceed with contracting and onboarding with the selected firms.
