The Silver Consolidated Board of Education voted July 31 to approve updated student handbooks that include a revised attendance policy and school-schedule clarifications.
The changes were presented by the district’s associate superintendent, who told the board the handbooks "have been updated as you had requested" and that "they do have the attendance policy in there." Board members asked whether start and end times had been adjusted for specific campuses; the associate superintendent confirmed updates had been made for the La Plata and 6th Street schools.
Board member Mister Khan moved to approve the handbooks; Missus Clement seconded the motion. The board approved the item by voice vote after the president called for those in favor to say “aye.” The president declared the motion passed.
The handbooks were presented as an item ready for adoption after staff incorporated edits requested by the board. No amendments or dissent were recorded during the discussion.
Following the vote, the board moved on to procurement items on the agenda.
