The service director offered to sidebar after the meeting, collect the resident’s contact information and have staff follow up. Councilman Kussbaum said he would consult the service director and the building commissioner to investigate the complaint and determine next steps.
The exchange did not resolve liability or enforcement questions at the meeting; staff committed to follow up with the resident outside the public session. The concern was recorded under general public comment; no formal action (motion or referral) was taken at that time.
Quote from public comment: “We have not done anything to our property to change the level... my family sits there and worries about water coming in our basement again,” the resident said.
