"They told employees today ... closing tomorrow," the mayor said in explaining reports he had received. He added that the store manager was "completely blindsided" and that the store's pharmacy would remain open for 15 days.
The mayor also encouraged attendance at the city's Frosty's Fest community event (scheduled Sunday) and thanked the volunteer group We Are Parma Proud and city service crews for their work on holiday lighting.
Councilmembers acknowledged concern for affected ACME employees and residents who used the store; no formal council action was taken on the matter during the meeting.
