During committee and full council sessions on Dec. 1, Parma City Council moved several service and capital items to the Finance Committee for further consideration.
Ordinance 216-25 would authorize the mayor or director of public service to enter an agreement with Smith and Obai Company to replace the chiller system at Parma City Hall (6611 Ridge Road); the council moved the item for a second reading and referred it back to the Finance Committee. Council also moved ordinance 218-25, an economic development grant award agreement with G5 Parma LLC for acquisition and renovation of 8303 Day Drive, to a second reading and referral to committee.
Separately, lease-renewal ordinances for properties used by the Economic Development and Community Service Department (ordinances 229-25 and 223-25/229 references) were placed on the Finance Committee docket. Councilmembers asked for these items to be reviewed in finance committee where costs, lease terms and departmental needs will be examined prior to final action.
The chiller-replacement ordinance was presented with an emergency clause and a request for a second reading; council took no final adoption action and referred the measure for further committee review.
