County developmental‑disabilities director outlines services and local grants; council honors coaches and youth teams

Lori Mago, director of Early Intervention and Therapy Services for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, addressed council during the public comment portion to outline services provided countywide and in Parma. Mago noted the county's continuous 3.9‑mill levy supports about two‑thirds of a roughly $150 million budget and funds early intervention, therapies, school consultative services, transition services, housing and employment supports. She said Parma received $10,000 in 2024 grants from the board and that the county awarded $180,000 in community grants in 2025; since 2021 the board has granted nearly $1 million to local libraries, arts and recreation programs to improve accessibility.
Council thanked Mago and invited further engagement; a council member asked to speak with her after the meeting about locating dental providers for county clients.
Earlier in the meeting council presented a framed proclamation recognizing Amber Bridal as the 2025 girls youth volleyball coach of the year, and issued certificates to a U‑16 national cup soccer team and other community honorees. Bridal and several players and parents spoke briefly and accepted certificates and photos.
Council recognized local volunteer and departmental contributions during member remarks and encouraged residents to remain involved.
