Vehicle service station application at East 42nd Street held in abeyance
Summary
The Planning Commission held CCP03-2026, a conditional-use permit for a vehicle service station at 2217 East 42nd Street, after staff said the proposal failed to meet driveway and parking standards and a prior zoning board appeal had been denied; the applicant consented to the hold to avoid refiling fees.

The commission agreed Feb. 4 to hold CCP03-2026, a conditional-use application for a vehicle service station at 2217 East 42nd Street, after staff said the proposal is not in compliance with four items, including driveway standards and parking requirements, and after an earlier related application to the zoning board of appeals was denied.
Carlton Moore (agent) told the commission the applicants will work with staff to resolve outstanding zoning issues. Planning staff explained that holding the application in abeyance with the applicant’s consent will allow the applicants to work through zoning issues without paying a new filing fee. The commission voted to hold the matter with applicant consent.
Next steps: applicants must resolve the zoning issues identified by staff and may return to the commission when those issues are addressed.
