The University of Michigan Board of Regents approved 316 faculty promotion recommendations and moved forward on several capital projects during its meeting at the Dearborn campus.
Provost Macaulay presented 316 promotion recommendations — including 163 instructional tenure‑track promotions, 142 clinical promotions and 11 research promotions — which the board reviewed and approved as part of the meeting’s agenda. Provost Macaulay and other presenters highlighted selected faculty profiles and notable research and teaching accomplishments.
Separately, the board approved multiple capital items through the consent and finance agendas. The board moved approval for the Lorch Hall renovation and addition, noting plans to modernize the facility and pursue electrification as part of thermal‑efficiency efforts. The board also approved Phase 2 demolition for Central Campus residential development and authorized relocation and renovation work on the Raoul Wallenberg and Arthur Miller houses. Several routine finance items — including planned uses of endowed funds and the Michigan Biomedical Venture Fund approvals — were also carried by voice vote.
Conflicts of interest were addressed in an earlier portion of the meeting and the board confirmed required recusals before voting on related items. The board approved academic calendar items and non‑tenure clinical appointments for U‑M Flint during the same session.
