Jason England, who presented pricing options, told the board higher tariffs and vendor cost increases led to a higher quote; for the $30,250 option he said, “For the 30,250, that's gonna be the same exact show as last year.” The board discussed the tradeoffs — a lower cost would reduce shell counts and possibly affect the spectacle — and members said they preferred not to downsize for the 250th‑anniversary celebration.
A motion to continue with Pyro for this year's show at the $30,250 budget passed. Staff said they will return with additional event details, including live music and stage plans, after the events committee meets.
