ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Senate Community and Regional Affairs Committee advanced Senate Bill 230 on Feb. 24, a technical correction intended to make the Jonesville public-use area whole and to address safety concerns for nearby residents.
Senator George Rauscher introduced the bill and said it corrects a technical error in 2018’s HB 6 so the Jonesville public-use area is properly defined. He told the committee the change would also help protect nearby residents from “bidirectional” and other dangerous shooting behavior.
Senator Grama Jackson moved to report SB 230, version 34, from the committee with individual recommendations and an accompanying fiscal note and authorized legislative legal services to make conforming changes. The motion carried without objection and the bill was moved from committee.
