Artbox public-art mock-ups revised after dimensioning error; staff aims for March completion

Staff updated the commission on the Artbox project and said two of the six planned electrical-box art installations are in active production but required a mock-up redesign.
The contractor discovered a dimensioning issue: one mock-up was produced for a three-panel box rather than a four-sided box. Staff said they will redo the mock-up, explore adding art on the backside panel or matching front-and-back panels, and send updated images to commissioners for feedback. Staff reiterated the target to have the current two boxes finished by March and said a phase 3 rollout (including additional boxes such as the one at Bodark/Charger) would follow after the initial installations and new artwork selection.
Commissioners discussed visual options—scaling images, using complementary borders when images are reduced, or maintaining an Andy Warhol–style repeating pattern by placing matching panels front and back. Staff agreed to send updated mock-ups and coordinate placement decisions with the commission.
What's next: staff will provide revised mock-ups for commissioner review and continue work toward the March target for the two initial boxes.
