Piedmont approves raises for support staff and assistant principals; teachers ratify negotiated agreement

Administration proposed a 25¢ per hour increase across support staff schedules for fiscal year 24–25, saying the raise addresses local pay disparities. The board voted unanimously to adopt the revision.
Separately, trustees approved a change to the middle school assistant principal compensation schedule after administrators noted these APs typically work additional evenings and carry added responsibilities; the change was described as a modest hourly adjustment to better reflect duties. That motion also passed unanimously.
On labor relations, administration reported that certified teachers voted to ratify the 2024–25 Piedmont Association of Educators (PAE) negotiated agreement. A presenter said the turnout was 52% of certified teachers who voted and that those voting returned a unanimous yes. The board approved ratifying the negotiated agreement during the meeting.
Board members thanked principals and staff for their work implementing the agreements and for negotiations that led to ratification. Administration indicated that changes will be reflected in upcoming payroll cycles and that supporting documentation is included in meeting attachments.
