The Bethany Public Schools board on Jan. 20 approved a set of routine measures including the consent agenda, encumbrances and personnel items, and set a date to sell $800,000 in general obligation building bonds.
Board members moved and approved the consent agenda, which included minutes, an out-of-state overnight trip to Dallas and financial fund reports. A staff member noted a correction would be made to a rental-agreement event date listed as "05/02/2024." Roll-call votes recorded all present members voting in favor.
The board also approved encumbrances and payroll items. A finance staff member reported that the district set a $19,500,000 budget and had expended about $8.2 million to date, leaving roughly $495,000 available to finish the year. Staff said some federal reimbursements for Title I and special-education claims have begun arriving.
On debt issuance, the board approved a resolution setting the maturities and scheduling the sale of $800,000 in general obligation building bonds for Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m., to be conducted in a separate meeting prior to the regular board meeting at 6 p.m.
The board approved hiring listed in Addendum A for the 2024–25 school year and accepted resignations listed in Addendum B. The board also voted to move into an executive session earlier in the meeting.
